其政闷闷
“When the government is dull and relaxed, the people are content. When the government is sharp and strict, the people are restless. Misfortune rests upon good fortune.”
其政闷闷，其民淳淳；其政察察，其民缺缺。祸兮福之所倚，福兮祸之所伏。孰知其极？其无正。正复为奇，善复为妖。人之迷，其日固久。是以圣人方而不割，廉而不刿，直而不肆，光而不耀。
Lightness attracts lightness. When you loosen your grip on how things "should" be, life breathes. Good fortune and misfortune dance together — let them.
其政闷闷其民淳淳——政策宽松人民淳朴。
其政察察其民缺缺——政策严苛人民狡黠。
祸兮福之所倚福兮祸之所伏——灾祸中伴随着福气，福气中隐藏着灾祸。
孰知其极其无正——谁知道最终结果？没有绝对的标准。
方而不割廉而不刿直而不肆光而不耀——圣人的四种品质：方正不伤人，锐利不划人，正直不放肆，光明不耀眼。
