善为士者不武

善为士者不武，善战者不怒，善胜敌者不与，善用人者为之下。是谓不争之德，是谓用人之力，是谓配天古之极。
You do not have to fight to win. In arguments, in competition, in life — the one who stays calm has the advantage. Refuse to be drawn into unnecessary battles.
善为士者不武——善做将帅的不崇尚武力。
善战者不怒——善打仗的不轻易发怒。
善胜敌者不与——善胜敌的不与敌人正面冲突。
善用人者为之下——善用人的对人谦下。
不争之德——不与人争的品德。
配天古之极——符合自然的最高准则。
